There are people you’d get on with, and no particular reason to ever meet them. So we make one.

How it worksMost people come on their own

We book it, you turn up. Somebody picks the thing, calls the venue and holds the table. All you do is put your name down and arrive, and there’s a first name waiting for you when you do.

Nobody is asked to be interesting. Coming alone the first time is the only genuinely difficult part of it.

A short form, then a phone call

Ten minutes on WhatsApp, mostly working out who to sit you next to, so that on the day somebody already knows your name.

After the call the quiet ones open up: the evenings we list by month and nothing else. Most of what’s on is open to anyone either way.

The number is for the call, and for a reminder the evening before anything you book. The longer form has room for what you like doing.
